   Let me introduce myself, my name is Lynne Clay and I’m the owner and founder of guide to small business.com. This website is dedicated to teaching how affiliate marketing works and how to use it to build an online business. Don’t let that last sentence scare you, it’s easier than you think. If I can do it, anyone can. I know, a lot of people say that and don’t mean it, but I really do mean it. It’s very easy.

   If you’re anything like me you want to get out of the 9 to 5 rat race and become your own boss. You want to set your own hours and be able to work from home. You want to have a comfortable financial situation and not get ripped off in learning it all. You don’t want to take forever to learn it and you want it to be easy at the same time.

   It sounds like a very tall order indeed. Deep down in my heart, I just knew it was out there somewhere. I just had to find it. Thus the search for a new lifestyle began. Here’s how my journey started. I hope you enjoy it.

  Seven years ago my husband and I decided to sell our home and move into a 5th wheel trailer. We wanted to travel and see the U.S.A. before we were too old. This, of course, meant a drastic lifestyle change for us and our three cats. But, nonetheless, we were determined to do so. We found a realtor and put the house on the market. Thinking it would take a while to sell, seeing as the housing market wasn’t that great at the time.

   Our home was large and could easily fit a family of five or six, so we didn’t think it would take forever to sell. Our home sold very quickly, a little too quickly if you ask me. It had only been on the market for 30 days before a buyer was found. This was fantastic for us. Right? The only problem was, we had to be out of the house within 3o days. The new owners wanted to have their first Thanksgiving there and it was already just before Halloween. 

  Needless to say, I had a panic attack. I had a huge home and had to empty it fast, and wasn’t sure I could do it in time. I had to be very brutal about what we could take with us, seeing as we now would have very little space to fit everything in. Talk about running the emotional gambit, I sure did. I cried a lot during that time, having to get rid of items I’d had for years, not to mention the emotional attachment to some of them that were just too big to keep, or that I could no longer use within a trailer.

  I gave a lot away to friends and family, it got to the point they were saying, “OK, NO MORE!, We don’t want your stuff.” Then we sold a few things and took the majority to the salvation army. We even left a lot in the house for the new owners, who were a young couple, just to get rid of some more.

   I felt like I was giving away a part of myself, but I knew I couldn’t hold onto it any longer. I know I cried more in that 30 days than I’ve done in the last few years put together. I had to concentrate on our future and not the past if we were going to achieve our dream of a carefree lifestyle and traveling. So I had to force myself to focus and carry on.

   We got a loan for a 5th-wheel travel trailer and parked it in the driveway. It didn’t take very long to pack our FEW belongings into it and we were on our way. Traveling with 3 cats was a real eye-opener, but we all coped and got to our first destination. 

  The first month we were basically on vacation, sightseeing, and enjoying ourselves. After that reality set in, we were on a fixed income, and traveling was expensive. We determined we needed to work to help pay for our lot rent and electricity. This became a real huge problem for me, seeing as I had health issues and I felt I couldn’t do office work, due to being dyslexic.

  I needed a job that allowed me to pay our rent without putting my health in jeopardy or being ridiculed for something I had no control over. I couldn’t do much physical labor, seeing as I have very bad shoulders and neck trouble. This caused a huge problem for us, as most places we went to wanted either an office worker or physical labor work from both of us. I was starting to feel like I was a burden to my husband and was very disappointed in myself too. I lost my self-confidence and my self-worth because it seemed no one wanted to hire me for anything. I had to do something about this and do it fast.

   I decided to look online to find something I could do at home, but that proved to be a much harder job than I expected. There were a lot of scams out there and I really had to look long and hard to find anything that was legal and didn’t cost an arm and a leg to do.

   I spent three years searching for this dream, and thousands of hours online trying to find the right company to help me achieve what I was looking for. All the while I’m out of work and losing money fast. Many were too expensive, others were too general, and way too many of them were just plain ripoffs.
